If ya'll have been following, Miss C got her first ear infection. I just wanted to follow up and let you all know she is feeling tons better! I didn't realize how quickly the anitbiotic would work on her. I attached a picture we took today.
Thanks for your support!

Yay! So glad to hear she's feeling better. Generally if you can catch the infection early enough, the antibiotics will make her start feeling better within about 48 hours.
Now you just have to watch out for the poops. Antibiotics can either give them diarrhea (which happened to C-baby) or make them constipated. Good times. Remember the BRAT diet for the runs, and BabyLax and/or fruit juice for the constipation.
Oh! Also: this isn't necessarily related to the ear infection, but next time you go to the drug store, get some of the baby tylenol suppositories. They're called Feverall, and they're a life saver if she gets sick and you can't get her to keep anything down. This has happened to us a few times, C-baby will be so distraught that if we try to give her the medication orally, she'll just barf it right back up. But if you use the suppository, you don't have to worry about it.
Thanks for the heads up. I noticed she hasn't really pooped yet so i might add some juice to her water today. She is eating well again but still catching up on her rest (already on nap number two and we haven't left for Mrs J's yet...). I will look for the Feverall though the prospect of using it makes me shudder. Whatever is best for the little one, right? I have to say, I have a renewed appreciation for your winter suffering! Has C-baby's little cold gotten better?
Oh yeah, she's still a little bit booger-y, but otherwise recovered. Thankfully we got through this one without a trip to the doctor or the need for drugs.
And I know the idea of the suppository is horrifying, but if you've done the Q-tip thing, it's no big deal. Just keep reminding yourself that it's going to make her feel better, and you'll get through it. (I've done it enough times now that I don't even feel my gag reflex kick up anymore!)
Hey, it's nothing a good therapest can't fix later..
Oops. "therapist"
Wrong on so many levels, Tony! How are you?
I'm glad she's doing better. I was so wrapped up with work that I missed all the excitement while it was happening! So I tune in and everything is OK anyway. Yay!
There's not much sadder than a sick child.
I'm glad she's better, too.
We're all having fun. We spent the long weekend with my parents and eBaby had a great time. I'm sure someone else will blog some photos from the weekend.
