My how quickly they grow up

It seems like every day, Miss C does something that amazes me. The most recent? See the photo below:

We were sitting in the downstairs living room, just having a nice morning when Miss C went over to chase the kitty. Normally she pushes herself up on the bottom step and hollers at the cat. This time, DH and I both about screamed because Miss C was climbing up, no problems. Not sure when or how she figured it out but boy is she fast! Because of her recent exploits, DH had some work to do. As you can see in the photo below, he made fast work of getting a gate up.

Miss C now plays peek a boo from the bottom of the stairs!

We've also discovered that Miss C really does like her bread and cheese so she got to have a grilled cheese sandwich with lunch yesterday.

Yummy!

Does anyone else realize that it was only a month or so ago when Miss C actually started on solids!?! Wow!

I heard a rumor that its spring but based on the weather yesterday, I think it might be a little while before we see it here! Hope ya'll enjoy this quick update!

I know, our power went out twice over the weekend because of the stupid snow! GRPHBLKLJDAODFFGG!!! (That's me trying not to swear, because you know, little ears...)

Isn't the stair thing hilarious? I'm kind of relieved that C-baby tried it for the first time at the baby-sitter's house, because I think I would've had a heart attack. It was much nicer to hear "oh guess what she tried today? You might need to watch out for that." Um, yes, yes we do indeed.

We've been lucky (fingers crossed here) with the power but we are still getting (argh! haven't gotten it yet!) a generator. Miss C got to watch it hail today, yea us!
The stairs thing freaked me out. Thank goodness DH was around to put together the gate otherwise I would be totally freaked to leave the room!

I hope you've already got locks on all the cabinets and drawers! Or at least all the ones you don't want to find little elves poking around inside of. She's so funny.

I made SNG put gates up the day that e-baby started to crawl, so we haven't had any surprises like that. Of course now e-baby likes to hold someone's hand and walk up the stairs, one tread per step, which her legs are too short to do gracefully. She looks like the old 1970's Keep On Truckin' posters.

Sorry about the weather-- here, the cherry blossoms are in bloom and the dogwoods are not far behind. If I lived where y'all are, I'd insist on a generator too.

We have all of the cabinets and everything secured. The only thing we left was the gate at the bottom of the stairs because, well, she couldn't do anything but push herself up on them. Much to our amazment, that wasn't the case. We had the gate, it just took some time to figure out how to attach it without destroying the banister.
We already ordered a kiddy handrail. It attaches behind the "big kid" banister and is only a foot or so off the ground so when she can walk, Miss C will have a hand hold to grab. I am just convinced that she will start walking sooner rather than later.
The weather looks pretty but its darn cold! I am sure that it will warm up, eventually!
